Welcome to our u3a! We hope you enjoy your time with us.
We have more than 30 interest groups run by members. Please click on the Group you are interested in and an email can be sent directly to the Convenor to find out the details. You may want to try some groups to see it it’s for you, so ask about this when you email.

With more than 30 groups you can join!
This is our unique selling point- members run their own groups with others who have similar interests'
Background
The u3a was first called the ’University of the 3rd age’’. It was founded in 1982, and it remains a UK-wide movement of locally-run volunteers who together provide a wide range of opportunities for people to come together to ‘learn, laugh and live.’ There are over 1,000 u3as in England and most members are no longer in full-time work.
Monday meetings. We meet together on the last Monday of each month at 10am to listen to an invited speaker in the Prudhoe Parish Church Hall,
Tuesday coffee. There is also a monthly coffee social in Spetchells on the second Tuesday of each month from 10am. A good opportunity to get to know other members, sign up for trips and events and ask questions of the Committee.
Interest Groups where like-minded members meet to pursue their interests or hobbies. Groups commonly meet on a regular basis. Have a look at the Groups page and click on the group in the table to take you to the information page. There is also an email link icon to contact the Convenor (person who organises the meetings). You are free to join any group(s) you wish provided there is space or even start your own interest group with others. Have a chat with the Groups’ Coordinator, Jean. Her email is here Groups’ Coordinator .
Events. In addition to the Interest Groups, we also have social events and outings such as theatre trips, visits and lectures throughout the year. The best way to find out what’s coming up is to check the Events page.
Monthly News Each month a PowerPoint of News will be emailed to you with updates and information about what’s happening in your u3a. Photos and information from groups, reminders about upcoming events and any news. There is an archive of Notices on the Current News page.
Have a look at our Facebook page, where upcoming events, groups reports and photos are posted:
